In 2025, Corrine Geyer, Holt High School senior, was inspired by her fascination of vernal pools to create an illustrated comic for her Girl Scout 'Gold Award' as an educational tool for young people!

Corinne described her aim for the project: "Vernal pools are relatively underappreciated and under protected, despite being havens for many different species of animals. I would like to address this issue by using education through art." 

The MVPP was happy to advise Corinne throughout her project and now are excited to share the finished project, "Jump Into Vernal Pools with Sally the Salamander".
